🔍 What You’ll Be Testing

After reading our Learn About Skincare Page, grab 1–2 skincare products from home—moisturizer, lip balm, cleanser, toner, etc.—and investigate them based on three important qualities

• Texture

• pH Level

• Inactive and Active Ingredients

Materials

1. 1-2 skincare products

2. printed out observation sheet (link)

3. pH strip

📋 Step-by-Step:

1. Observe Texture: Scoop or pump a small amount onto a spoon or your hand.

✍️ Record: Is it creamy, thick, runny, oily, sticky, foamy?

2. Check pH: Use a pH strip by placing a small dab of product. Based on the color of the strip, you can determine the pH!

✍️ Record: Is it acidic (pH 4–6), neutral (7), or basic (8+)? Skin is naturally slightly acidic (around pH 5.5)—that’s ideal!

3. Read the ingredients: Look at the first 5 ingredients (they're the most concentrated!) and the Active Ingredients section.

✍️ Record: Any active or inactive ingredients
