🔍 What You’ll Be Testing
After reading our Learn About Skincare Page, grab 1–2 skincare products from home—moisturizer, lip balm, cleanser, toner, etc.—and investigate them based on three important qualities
Texture
pH Level
Inactive and Active Ingredients
Materials
1-2 skincare products
pH strip
đź“‹ Step-by-Step:
Observe Texture: Scoop or pump a small amount onto a spoon or your hand.
✍️ Record: Is it creamy, thick, runny, oily, sticky, foamy?
Check pH: Use a pH strip by placing a small dab of product. Based on the color of the strip, you can determine the pH!
✍️ Record: Is it acidic (pH 4–6), neutral (7), or basic (8+)? Skin is naturally slightly acidic (around pH 5.5)—that’s ideal!
Read the ingredients: Look at the first 5 ingredients (they're the most concentrated!) and the Active Ingredients section.
✍️ Record: Any active or inactive ingredients
